Privacy Policy
In one sentence
yamete does not collect, transmit, or share your data with Chipcolate. Detection runs on your Mac; configuration and logs stay under your home directory unless you configure an action that sends something elsewhere.
What data we collect
None. There is no account, no sign-up, no analytics SDK, no crash reporter that phones home, and no Chipcolate server the app talks to. We do not receive sensor samples, slap events, your config, or device identifiers.
What the app stores on your Mac
Everything lives in standard user-owned locations: config and the control socket under ~/Library/Application Support/com.chipcolate.yamete/, logs under ~/Library/Logs/yamete/. Owner-only permissions. Uninstall and delete those paths and it is gone.
Permissions we request
Input Monitoring is required by macOS for HID access, including the motion sensor. It is not used to observe keyboards or screen content. No camera, microphone, contacts or full-disk access is required for core detection.
What the sensor path processes
Acceleration and rotation samples are read in real time for slap detection. They are not uploaded. Optional telemetry on the local socket exists only so the menu bar app can draw the live scope while that window is visible.
Actions you configure
Sounds stay local. Exec runs a program you name. Webhooks send only to URLs you provide — never to Chipcolate by default.
This website
yamete.app is a static site with no first-party analytics. Hosting providers may process technical data such as IP addresses under their own policies.
Third parties
No advertising or analytics SDKs. Builds are signed and notarised for Gatekeeper and published as GitHub Releases — not through the Mac App Store.
Children's privacy
yamete does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children. Because we collect no personal data, there is nothing for Chipcolate to delete on request.
Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, and similar)
Chipcolate holds no personal data about yamete users from the product itself. Data on your Mac is under your control.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date and note material product changes in release notes.
